Dock Boards/Plates

A dock plate ramp bridges the gap and height difference between your dock and a trailer bed so forklifts and pallet jacks can cross. This collection has aluminum dock boards from Vestil, HD Ramps and Bluff, rated 10,000 to 20,000 lbs, in widths from 60" to 72" and lengths from 36" to 72".

How to Size a Dock Plate Ramp

Three numbers decide the board: the loaded weight of your heaviest forklift, the height difference between dock and trailer floor, and the width of your door and equipment. Longer boards handle a bigger height difference at a gentler slope.

Vestil TAS Aluminum Dock Boards

The model code tells you the size. TAS-15-6048 is rated 15,000 lb, 60" wide and 48" long.

  • Capacity — 10,000, 15,000 or 20,000 lb.
  • Size — 60" or 72" wide, 36" to 72" long.
  • Height Difference — at the 11 degree bend, 5" for the TAS-10-6036, 7" for the TAS-15-6048 and 12" for the TAS-20-7272.
  • Build — aluminum plate from 5/16" to 3/4" thick, with steel curbs.

Vestil cites OSHA 1910.30(a) and ANSI MH 30.2 for these boards. Check them against your own site requirements.

HD Ramps Aluminum Dock Boards

Four sizes, all rated 20,000 lbs, with an epoxy grit coat deck and built-in lifting chains. Made in the USA.

  • 36" x 63" — 3" height difference.
  • 48" x 63" — 5" height difference.
  • 60" x 63" and 60" x 72" — 7" height difference.

Bluff Dock Boards With Steel Curbs

  • Model AC — 10,000 lb diamond deck aluminum with full-length bolt-on steel curbs and locking legs.
  • 72" x 60" — 20,000 lbs, 69" usable width, 277 lbs. It handles a 7" height difference with a pallet jack or electric forklift and 9" with a propane or gas forklift.

Aluminum dock plate or steel?

Every board here has an aluminum deck, which keeps the weight down so the board can be repositioned by hand. Vestil and Bluff add steel curbs for edge strength and runoff protection.

Which Vestil dock plate do I need for a 7" height difference?

Going by Vestil's figures, a 48" long board like the TAS-15-6048 covers 7". Measure your dock and trailer heights before ordering.
