How the Lock Works
The channel is fixed to the loading surface. The ramp hook drops into it and is captured — it cannot lift or slide, which is the failure mode straps are trying to prevent in the first place.
That removes the strap from the sequence. No ratchets, no cam buckles, nothing to fray on the ramp edge and nothing to replace every season.
It also removes the guesswork. A ramp in the channel is in the same place every time, which matters when the person loading is not the person who set it up.
