Choosing Between the Three Builds
The standard build is the one most step decks want: 8' of run, 18" wide, 5" deep, rated to 23,500 lbs per axle at 92 lbs a ramp. It is the configuration the load leveler bunks are sized around.
The increased-capacity build takes the same footprint to 32,000 lbs per axle. It gets there by going to 6" deep rather than 5", so check the extra inch against your leveler seats and your break-over before ordering it.
The half-length build is 4 ft rather than 8 ft. Half the run means twice the angle at the same deck height, so it belongs on a low rise — not as a cheaper substitute for the full-length pair on a standard step deck.
How the Pin-On System Works
A pin-on ramp does not hook over a rail. It drops into a matching skid seat and pins, which means the connection is mechanical at both ends and the ramp cannot creep sideways under load.
That only works if the seats are already fitted. Check that your trailer has pin-end skid seats at the right spacing for an 18" ramp before ordering, and check the seats are seated fully before the first wheel touches — most ramp failures start with an end that was never fully engaged.
Set both ramps square to the trailer and space them to the machine's track width. Keep the ground under the feet firm and level.
