Description

2 Bunk Load Leveler and 2 Ramp System for 16" Step Deck Trailers — 20,000 lbs. per axle

A step deck trailer has two floors and a step between them. Anything long enough to cross that step either sits at an angle or hangs in mid-air, and neither one is legal or safe.

This is the complete answer for a 16" step: 2 aluminum leveler bunks to bridge the deck and 2 8' x 16" ramps to drive onto it. The system carries 20,000 lbs. per axle and the whole kit weighs 199 lbs.

Why Choose This 2 Bunk Load Leveler System

Bunks and ramps arrive as one matched kit rated at 20,000 lbs. per axle for a 16" deck step.

  • 20,000 lbs. per axle across the system — bunks and ramps rated together, not separately.
  • Sized for a 16" deck step, so the load sits flat instead of nearly flat.
  • 2 bunks and 2 ramps arrive as one matched kit — nothing to size or source afterwards.
  • Welded lumber channels on the bunks hold true 6" lumber and keep the load off the aluminum.

What's Included

  • 2 aluminum load leveler bunks
  • 2 aluminum loading ramps (8' x 16")
  • Stake pocket mounting hardware

Made For

Built for step deck operators who need one flat deck and a way to drive onto it.

  • Step deck and drop deck carriers
  • Equipment dealers and machinery movers
  • Pipe, steel and lumber haulers
  • Owner-operators running mixed freight
  • Rental fleets loading compact machines

Features

  • 20,000 lbs. per axle — the rated load per axle across the assembled system.
  • 16" deck height — the step this kit is built to close — match it to your trailer.
  • 2 leveler bunks — the spans that carry the load across the step.
  • 2 ramps — the run that gets wheels or tracks up onto the leveled deck.
  • 8' x 16" ramps — the ramp length and width supplied with this kit.
  • 199 lbs — the complete kit weight, so you can check it against your payload.
  • Welded lumber channels — true 6" lumber drops in and stays put, protecting the extrusion.
  • Stake pocket mounting — chains and binders through the pockets you already have.

The Bunks

The 2 bunks are the structural part. They span the step between the upper and lower deck and turn two floors into one working surface at 16".

Welded brackets along the top form channels for true 6" lumber. That lumber levels the surface and takes the wear, so the aluminum extrusion is not being ground down by steel every trip.

Each bunk secures to the trailer stake pockets with chains and binders. The offset adjustable inserts allow up to half an inch of movement so the bunks fit the trailer width you are actually running.

The Ramps

The 2 ramps in this kit run 8' x 16" and pin onto the deck. They are what gets a machine from the ground up onto the leveled surface without a dock.

Because the ramps and the bunks are supplied together they carry the same 20,000 lbs. per axle rating and pin together without adaptation. A ramp bought separately rarely lines up with a leveler bunk on the first try.

Observe the rating. It covers the machine and whatever it is carrying, and it assumes true 6" lumber in the channels — undersized lumber changes how the load is spread.

The Right Load Leveler System for Your Trailer

If you run a 16" step deck and need it flat and loadable, this kit is the matched answer: 2 bunks, 2 ramps, 20,000 lbs. per axle.
