The Bluff Model CR container ramp is an all-steel welded ramp rated at 15,000 lbs. A full-width stiffener bumps against the container, locking chains with purpose-built keepers hook into the container holes, and 4" curbs run down both sides so a tire cannot run off the edge mid-crossing.

How the Ramp Locks to the Container
A container ramp that only rests against the sill is a hazard. The load of a forklift entering the container pushes the ramp back, and the gap that opens is exactly where a tire drops.
The Model CR solves that in two parts. The full-width stiffener runs the whole width of the ramp and bumps up against the container, so the contact is a face rather than two corners. Then the locking chains, fitted with keepers designed for the job, drop into the holes in the container itself.
Taking up the slack in those chains is a one-person job thanks to the grab notch bracket welded to the sides of the ramp. Once the chains are tight, the ramp and the container are a single unit and the crossing point stays put through the whole unload.
Sizing the Ramp to the Job
Two figures decide which 15,000 lb ramp fits. Width has to suit the forklift and the container doorway: this ramp is offered in 60", 72" and 84" widths.
Length sets the grade. The higher the container floor sits above your yard surface, the longer the ramp needs to be to bring the climb down to something a loaded forklift will take without scraping or losing traction. Lengths run from 48" to 96".
Bluff also offers a 14" lip for refrigerated containers, where the floor sits deeper inside the doorway, and Speedy Board cutouts for easier handling. Match the capacity to the weight of the truck plus the load, since the whole machine crosses the ramp.
