Left-Hand Assist-Arm Rim-Clamp Tire Changer for Tight Bay Layouts

Run-flats and stiff-sidewall tires don't seat or mount with hand tools alone — the operator needs help pressing the bead into the drop center on every cycle. A full dual-arm setup is overkill for many shops, but no assist arm at all means fighting every modern tire by hand.

The Atlas TC229LH is the TC229 platform with a single Left-Hand Assist Arm (LHA) added. The arm has a pressing block and pressing/lifting disk that handles 80% of the work a full dual-arm package does, at a meaningful price step below the TC229DAA. Built-in Beadblaster, 3-position jaws, 5,500 lb bead breaker — same TC229 quality, just a single arm instead of two.

What's Included

  • Atlas TC229LH rim-clamp tire changer
  • LHA left-hand assist arm with pressing block / pressing-lifting disk
  • Metal mount/demount head with replaceable plastic inserts
  • Column-mounted inflator box with gauge
  • Filter / regulator / lubricator
  • 20" tire tool and lube bucket with brush
  • Large plastic jaw covers + bead breaker shovel cover
  • Multiple replacement plastic inserts for M/D head

Made For

Built for the independent tire shop or powersports dealer that wants meaningful assist-arm capability for modern tires without stepping up to a dual-arm price.

  • Independent tire shops handling daily passenger and light-truck work
  • ATV / motorcycle dealerships with optional adapter kits
  • Small commercial garages working alloy wheels
  • Detail and used-car lots upgrading from a basic rim-clamp changer

Features

  • LHA left-hand assist arm — pressing block + pressing/lifting disk handle stiff sidewalls.
  • Built-in Beadblaster — seats stiff sidewalls in one trigger pull.
  • 3-position adjustable jaws — 9 3/4 in to 25 1/4 in rim range.
  • Pneumatic clamp jaws — fast clamping cycle.
  • 5,500 lb bead breaker force — breaks stubborn beads cleanly.
  • Metal M/D head with plastic inserts — long head life.
  • 110V single-phase, 1 HP table motor — standard shop power.
  • Plastic jaw covers + shovel cover — protect rim finish.

Single Assist Arm Hits the 80/20

A full dual-arm package (like the TC229DAA) is the right call for the highest-volume tire shop running run-flats every cycle. For most independent shops, though, a single left-hand assist arm covers the 80% of modern tires that need help mounting without the dual-arm price step.

The LHA arm has a pressing block on top (pushes the upper bead into the drop center) and a pressing/lifting disk (lifts the bead over the rim on mount). Combined with the Beadblaster on the column, the TC229LH handles modern stiff-sidewall and low-profile tires cleanly — just a bit slower than the dual-arm version on the hardest tires.

Same TC229 Platform, Same Parts

The TC229LH shares its frame, turntable, jaws, bead breaker, and M/D head with the TC229 and TC229DAA. That means parts inventory and operator workflow are interchangeable across the family — if a shop wants to upgrade from a TC229 to LH later, the existing TC229 stays usable for a second bay or a parts donor.

Plastic inserts, M/D heads, Beadblaster components, and jaw covers are all the same SKUs across the TC22X family. One parts inventory covers the whole line.

The Right Tire Changer for Your Shop

The TC229LH is the middle ground in the TC229 family: real assist-arm capability for modern tires, at a price below the dual-arm DAA version. The right call for the independent shop that wants the help without the flagship price.
