Description

Dual-Assist-Arm Rim-Clamp Tire Changer for High-Volume Tire Bays

Stiff-sidewall and low-profile tires don't just need a Beadblaster to seat — they need help getting the upper bead into the drop center on demount and over the rim on mount. A single assist arm helps; two arms is what the Italian flagship machines come with. The gap between the TC229 with Beadblaster and a Platinum-line dual-arm changer is usually about $4K.

The Atlas TC229DAA closes most of that gap. It's the TC229 frame and Beadblaster with the Atlas DAA-SA dual assist arm package added: a left-hand arm with a pressing block and pressing/lifting disk, and a right-hand arm with a pressing/lifting disk and bead roller. The DAA package acts as an extra set of hands on stiff sidewalls — and for a single operator, that's the difference between fighting a tire for five minutes and mounting it in two.

What's Included

  • Atlas TC229DAA rim-clamp tire changer
  • DAA-SA dual assist arm package (left + right)
  • Metal mount/demount head with replaceable plastic inserts
  • Column-mounted inflator box with gauge
  • Filter / regulator / lubricator
  • 20" tire tool and lube bucket with brush
  • Large plastic jaw covers + bead breaker shovel cover
  • Multiple replacement plastic inserts for M/D head

Made For

Built for the independent tire shop and powersports dealer running high volume on modern stiff-sidewall and run-flat tires where a single operator needs help on every wheel.

  • Independent tire shops handling steady daily volume
  • Custom wheel and detail shops working alloy and chrome
  • Performance shops handling run-flats and ultra-low-profile tires
  • ATV / motorcycle dealerships (with optional adapter kits)

Features

  • DAA-SA dual assist arm package — left + right arms with pressing block, pressing/lifting disks, and bead roller.
  • Built-in Beadblaster — seats stiff sidewalls in one trigger pull.
  • 3-position adjustable jaws — 9 3/4 in to 25 1/4 in rim range.
  • Pneumatic clamp jaws — fast, repeatable clamping.
  • 5,500 lb bead breaker force — breaks stubborn beads cleanly.
  • Metal M/D head with plastic inserts — long head life, cheap consumables.
  • 110V single-phase, 1 HP table motor — standard shop power.
  • Plastic jaw covers + shovel cover — protect rim finish.

DAA-SA Dual Assist Arms: An Extra Set of Hands

The DAA package isn't a single-arm add-on — it's two coordinated arms working on opposite sides of the wheel. The left-hand arm has a pressing block (pushes the upper bead down into the drop center) and a pressing/lifting disk (lifts the upper bead over the rim). The right-hand arm has its own pressing/lifting disk and a bead roller (keeps the bead under the M/D head during demount).

For a single operator working stiff-sidewall tires, that's the difference between three hands needed (impossible) and two hands plus two arms (works). The DAA-SA on the TC229 platform delivers most of the workflow benefits of an $8K+ Platinum dual-arm machine at the TC229 family price.

Same TC229 Frame, Same Beadblaster

Under the dual assist arm package, the TC229DAA is the same machine as the TC229 with Beadblaster — same turntable, jaws, bead breaker, frame, and electrical system. That matters for parts inventory: replacement plastic inserts, M/D heads, and Beadblaster components are all interchangeable across the TC221 / TC229 / TC229DAA family.

If you're stepping up from a TC221 or TC229, your existing parts inventory and workflow carry over. Just bolt on the additional arm hardware and the operator runs the same machine they already know.

The Right Tire Changer for Your Shop

The TC229DAA is the answer when the shop needs flagship dual-arm capability for run-flats and stiff sidewalls without the Platinum-line price. Same TC229 build, dual assist arms, Beadblaster — all at the lower mid-tier price point.
