Description

TC229 Compact Tire Changer + WB49-2 Motorized 2D Auto-Data Balancer Combo

Manual data-entry balancers slow a busy passenger-tire bay down — three dials per wheel, every wheel, every cycle. Stepping up to an automatic-data-entry balancer cuts that step out of the workflow without forcing the shop to invest in a full commercial-grade changer.

This combo pairs the compact Atlas TC229 rim-clamp swing-arm tire changer with the Atlas WB49-2 motorized spin balancer with automatic 2D data entry (3D upgradeable). The TC229 external-clamps from 9 3/4" to 23 1/4" with 5,500 lb of bead breaker force, and the WB49-2 reads diameter and distance-to-flange automatically while balancing to 1-gram accuracy.

What's Included

  • Atlas TC229 rim-clamp swing-arm tire changer
  • Atlas WB49-2 motorized 2D auto-data spin balancer
  • Oiler, filter, and regulator unit
  • Plastic jaw protectors
  • Tire tool, lube bucket, and lube brush
  • Inflation box with gauge
  • Large wheel weight tray on balancer
  • Plastic quick-release nut, 4 centering cones, wheel weight pliers, and measuring calipers (balancer)

Made For

Built for passenger-tire shops that want auto-data-entry balancing throughput without stepping up to a commercial-bay-size changer.

  • Independent tire shops focused on passenger and light-truck wheels
  • General repair shops adding mid-tier tire capability
  • Dealership service departments servicing predominantly passenger fleets
  • Used-car lots reconditioning trade-ins
  • Detail and reconditioning shops adding wheel balance to the menu

Features

  • 23 1/4" external / 25 1/4" internal clamping — covers the passenger and standard light-truck range
  • 5,500 lb bead breaker force — matches commercial-grade bead force in a compact bay
  • 1 HP turntable / 885 ft-lb torque — drives the tire through stubborn beads
  • WB49-2 automatic 2D data entry — gauge reads diameter and distance, no dials per wheel
  • 3D data entry upgradeable — optional width gauge adds full automatic measurement later
  • Split-weight function — hides correction weights behind alloy spokes
  • 1-gram balance accuracy / 1.4-degree position resolution — clean readouts on performance rims
  • 110V single-phase electrical — both machines run on standard shop circuits

TC229 Compact Swing-Arm Changer

The TC229 is the compact version of Atlas's swing-arm rim-clamp platform — same 1 HP turntable, same 5,500 lb bead breaker, same 885 ft-lb of rotating torque as the larger models, but in a clamping range sized to passenger wheels. External range of 9 3/4" to 23 1/4" covers 14" through 22" rims, and the internal range extends to 25 1/4" for one-piece alloys.

Plastic protectors clip onto the jaws and the mount/demount head to keep alloy and chrome finishes scratch-free during the cycle. The factory-installed oiler/filter/regulator unit means the only install step is connecting shop air at 90–110 PSI.

WB49-2 Motorized Auto-Data Balancer

The WB49-2 cuts the manual data-entry step out of the balance cycle. The integrated gauge arm reads diameter and distance-to-flange automatically and feeds the controller — the operator clamps the wheel, types the width once (or upgrades to the optional 3D width gauge), and hits cycle. Balance speed is 150 rpm with 1-gram correction-weight accuracy and 1.4-degree position resolution across a 10"–32" rim range.

The split-weight function hides correction weights behind spokes on alloy wheels — the controller splits one weight into two and places them so the visible face of the wheel stays clean. The large built-in wheel-weight tray on the cabinet keeps the operator's tooling at fingertip reach.

The Right Auto-Data Tire Service Combo for Your Shop

This pairing is the throughput-focused upgrade for a passenger-tire bay — same compact TC229 footprint as the WB41 combo, but with auto-data-entry balancing that materially speeds up high-volume days. The 5,500 lb bead breaker matches commercial spec, and the WB49-2 leaves the 3D upgrade path open.

Both machines run on 110V single-phase power and arrive with the full operator accessory pack — inflation box, FRL unit, lube bucket and brush, jaw protectors, centering cones, pliers, calipers — so the bay is functional uncrating day.

Don't wait — scroll back up and click the orange Add to Cart button to get this combo on its way to your shop.
