TC229 Compact Tire Changer + WB41 Computer Balancer Combo
Not every tire bay needs to handle 27" rims and 18" wide truck wheels. For a busy general repair shop, a farm, or a small tire service that primarily sees passenger cars and light wheels, a compact swing-arm changer paired with a competent balancer is the right capital decision — full functionality without the footprint and price of a commercial-grade machine.
This combo pairs the Atlas TC229 rim-clamp swing-arm tire changer with the Atlas WB41 computerized spin balancer. The TC229 external-clamps from 9 3/4" to 23 1/4" with 5,500 lb of bead breaker force and a 39" max tire diameter, and the WB41 balances cars and light trucks to 1-gram accuracy across a 10"–32" rim range.

TC229 Compact Swing-Arm Changer
The TC229 is the compact version of Atlas's swing-arm rim-clamp platform — same 1 HP turntable, same 5,500 lb bead breaker, same 885 ft-lb of rotating torque as the larger models, but in a smaller clamping range that fits passenger wheels comfortably. The external range of 9 3/4" to 23 1/4" covers 14" through 22" rims, and the internal range extends to 25 1/4" for one-piece alloys.
Plastic protectors clip onto the jaws and the mount/demount head to keep alloy and chrome finishes scratch-free during the cycle. The factory-installed oiler/filter/regulator unit means the only install step is connecting shop air at 90–110 PSI.
WB41 Computerized Spin Balancer
The WB41 uses manual data entry — diameter, width, and distance-to-flange are dialed in once per wheel and the controller stores them for the cycle. Balance speed is 150 rpm with 1-gram correction-weight accuracy and 1.4-degree position resolution across the 10"–32" rim range.
Self-calibration runs on startup so the machine stays consistent between sessions. The 40mm shaft mounts the standard Atlas centering cone set included in the package, covering cars and light trucks without extra adapter purchases.
The Right Compact Tire Service Combo for Your Shop
This pairing is the right answer for a shop that sees mostly passenger and small light-truck wheels — the 5,500 lb bead breaker on the TC229 matches the larger Atlas machines, and the 1-gram WB41 matches the spec of mid-tier commercial balancers, in a footprint and price point sized to the work.
Both machines run on 110V single-phase power and arrive with the full operator accessory pack — inflation box, FRL unit, lube bucket and brush, jaw protectors, centering cones, pliers, calipers — so the bay is functional uncrating day.
