Atlas SBC420 Standard Sandblast Cabinet — Entry-Level Shop Cabinet
For shops getting into media blasting — restoration hobbyists, occasional rust-removal work, small body shops — the Atlas SBC420 is the right entry point. Suction-feed system, 47-1/2" x 24" x 22-1/2" work area, dual side doors for easy loading, and a self-contained dust collection system. Built on the Atlas standard cabinet platform with the same parts network as the bigger SBC990.
The cabinet stays plumbed to the shop air supply — step on the foot pedal, the gun is ready. Foot-operated control means both hands stay on the work. Heavy-duty ceramic-nozzle gun with replaceable nozzles, 16-gauge panels, 14-gauge legs.

Foot-Pedal Operation and Always-Ready Air Connection
Most low-end cabinets force the operator to hold a trigger gun, which means one hand is tied up and parts have to be repositioned single-handed. The SBC420 puts media flow on a foot pedal — the operator keeps both hands on the work, turning and repositioning parts while blasting.
The cabinet stays plumbed to the shop air supply between jobs. When a part comes in for rust removal or paint stripping, there's no setup time — open a door, drop the part in, step on the pedal, and the gun is ready. The integrated vacuum system simultaneously pulls "floating" dust and degraded glass beads out of the work area, which keeps visibility clear through the viewing window across long sessions.
Self-Contained Dust Collection and Media Reuse
The cartridge filter dust collector is built into the cabinet — no separate vacuum unit, no shop-vac improvisation, no hose running across the floor. Spent media and dust pull straight into the filter housing, and a bottom gate underneath drops accumulated material out for disposal between media changes.
Underneath the work area, the lower hopper catches glass bead that's still serviceable and feeds it back to the gun on the next pedal press. That media reuse cycle is what keeps the SBC420's cost-per-hour low against open-air blasting, where bead is one-and-done. When it's time to switch grits, the hopper empties through the same clean-out path.
