ALI Certified 15,000 lb Heavy-Duty Commercial 2-Post Overhead Lift
Service trucks, long-wheelbase one-ton trucks, and class-5 work trucks weigh past the limit of a typical 10,000 or 12,000 lb 2-post lift. Heavy-duty fleet shops and dealership service departments handling commercial vehicles need a lift rated for the full weight of a loaded service body — and they need the certification paperwork to prove it.
The Atlas Platinum PVL15 is an ALI-certified, commercial-grade, 15,000 lb capacity overhead 2-post lift built for heavy-duty service. It uses dual direct-drive hydraulic cylinders, a premium ALLY AL2300 power unit, 3/8" equalization cables, and a professional-grade arm-lock restraint system, with an overall height of 174 1/2", maximum lift height of 87 1/2" with adapters, and symmetric padded arms.

Features
-
ALI Certified — Carries the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) certification mark — the gold standard for vehicle lifts in North America. Required in many commercial service environments.
-
15,000 lb Heavy-Duty Capacity — Lifts the loaded weight of class 4 and class 5 service trucks — well beyond the 10,000 and 12,000 lb capacities of typical commercial 2-post lifts.
-
Dual Direct-Drive Hydraulic Cylinders — Direct-drive cylinders mounted in each column — no overhead synchronizing crossbar, no chain-driven slave cylinder; both sides lift on hydraulics directly.
-
Premium ALLY AL2300 Power Unit — MET Laboratories certified for U.S. and Canadian electrical compliance. Heavy-duty armatures and increased silver-metal motor windings run cooler and maintain torque through the full lifting cycle.
-
Symmetric Padded Carriage Arms — Symmetric arms position the vehicle centered between the columns. Padded carriages protect rocker panels and frame rails during contact.
-
Professional Grade Arm-Lock Restraint — Automatic arm locks engage when the arms come under load, preventing the arms from swinging out during a lift.
-
Heavy-Duty 3/8" Equalization Cables — Thicker-gauge cables than the 5/16" cables found on lighter 2-post lifts — sized for the equalization loads of a 15,000 lb capacity machine.
-
Extra Tall and Extra Wide — 174 1/2" overall height clears most service-truck cabs; 148" overall floor width and 119 1/4" inside-column clearance accommodate wide vehicles.
Why ALI Certification Matters on a Commercial Lift
An ALI-certified lift has been independently tested against the ANSI/ALI ALCTV standard for vehicle lifts and re-tested periodically by an accredited certification body. For shops working on commercial trucks, fleet vehicles, or in any environment with OSHA or municipal inspection, the ALI gold label on the lift is not optional.
The PVL15 carries that certification at 15,000 lb capacity — a relatively rare combination, because most lifts at this capacity skip the certification process. If your shop needs the gold ALI label and the 15,000 lb rating in the same machine, the options narrow quickly.
Hydraulics, Cables, and Power Unit Built for the Capacity
The dual direct-drive cylinders are mounted inside the lift columns, with each cylinder driving its own carriage hydraulically. The equalization cables are 3/8" diameter — a step up from the lighter cables found on standard 10,000 lb commercial lifts — sized for the loads a 15,000 lb capacity puts through the equalizer.
The included ALLY AL2300 power unit is industry-leading on this lift — the motor windings use increased silver metal in the wires and connections, generating less heat and allowing the pump to maintain constant torque through the lifting process. The power unit is MET Laboratories certified for electrical compliance in both the United States and Canada.
The Right Heavy-Duty 2-Post Lift for Your Shop
If you need an ALI-certified, 15,000 lb capacity 2-post lift with dual direct-drive cylinders and a commercial-grade power unit, the Platinum PVL15 is purpose-built for the job. Symmetric padded arms, 3/8" equalization cables, and the ALLY AL2300 power unit are all factory-spec — not a base lift with upgrade options.
The free 8-piece truck adapter set and 4 screw-up frame adapters come with the lift, sized to reach the higher frame lift points on commercial trucks without buying a separate adapter kit. The lift can be extended an extra 2 feet for taller vehicles with the optional Height Extension Kit.
