A mobile service truck or remote job site doesn't have a 220V outlet. If you're running impact wrenches, ratchets, and air tools off a tow-vehicle compressor, you need a gas-powered unit that delivers shop-grade CFM — not a homeowner pancake compressor strapped to a tank.
The Atlas Air Force AF14G pairs a 14HP Kohler CH440 electric-start gas engine with a 2-stage pump and a USA-made 30-gallon horizontal tank. Output is 25 CFM at 90 PSI — enough to drive a 1" impact gun on stubborn BUDD wheel lug nuts at a job site.
Built for mobile service operators and remote job sites that need shop-grade air output without a 220V power source.
The Kohler CH440 is a 14HP commercial-grade single-cylinder 4-cycle air-cooled gas engine — the same engine family Kohler builds for commercial mowers, pressure washers, and standby generators. Electric start eliminates pull-cord struggle on cold mornings.
EPA and CARB emission compliance means the AF14G is legal for sale and use in all 50 states, including California. The engine includes a pneumatic throttle control and head unloaders, so the engine drops to idle when tank pressure is reached and ramps back up when air is drawn — saving fuel during light-duty intervals.
Single-stage pumps top out around 135 PSI and generate a lot of heat at sustained duty. The AF14G's 2-stage pump uses two cylinders in series — the first compresses ambient air partway, the second finishes the job — which delivers higher pressure with lower heat and longer pump life.
The 30-gallon horizontal tank is built in the USA from heavy-gauge steel and is sized to deliver short-burst air for an impact wrench without constant pump cycling. The finned tank inlet tube cools incoming compressed air, which reduces water accumulation in the tank and extends pump and tool life.
At 14HP, 25 CFM at 90 PSI, and 175 PSI maximum pressure, the AF14G is sized for full-time mobile service work — not occasional jobsite use. The Kohler engine and USA-made tank are commercial-grade components built to deliver years of service.
If you need higher CFM with less weight, look at the smaller AF9G (9HP Honda); if you need maximum mobile output and you're willing to feed a 14HP gas engine, the AF14G is the top of the Atlas Air Force mobile compressor line.
