Shops running multiple air tools β tire machines, lifts, impact guns, paint guns β need a compressor that can keep up without cycling constantly. Undersized tanks force you to wait between jobs, and weak pumps wear out fast under daily commercial duty.
The Atlas Air Force AF9 pairs a 7.5HP 2-cylinder 2-stage industrial pump with a 120-gallon vertical ASME-coded tank for serious continuous-duty air output. It moves 23 CFM at 90 PSI and pressures to 175 PSI, with a magnetic starter and industrial Hubbell pressure switch built in.
Built for shops that run air tools all day and need the tank capacity and recovery rate to keep up without constant cycling.
Single-stage compressors top out around 125 PSI before they choke. The AF9's two-stage pump compresses air in two steps β the first cylinder pushes air into the second cylinder where it's compressed again to higher final pressure. The result is steady 175 PSI output and more usable CFM across the entire pressure range.
That matters when you're running pneumatic ratchets, framing nailers, or paint booths that need consistent high-pressure output. The 2-cylinder configuration also runs cooler and quieter than a single-cylinder pump pushed to its limit.
A 60-gallon compressor running a busy tire shop cycles its motor every couple of minutes. The AF9's 120-gallon ASME vertical tank doubles your usable air reserve and cuts those motor starts in half. Fewer starts means lower current draw, longer motor life, and less heat in the pump.
The vertical footprint keeps the tank's floor space tight against a wall β the unit measures 72" long x 32" wide x 52" tall β so you get high-capacity air storage without giving up bay space.
At 7.5HP with 23 CFM at 90 PSI, the AF9 sits right where commercial shops need to be β enough head room to drive tire machines, lifts, and air tools without bottlenecks, without overspending on a 10HP or 15HP unit. The 220V single-phase wiring fits almost any shop panel (40 amp breaker, 8 AWG wire required).
Included vibro-isolation pads, hands-free tank drain extension, and oil drain tube make installation and routine maintenance straightforward β set it, drain it, and run it.
