Heavy-Duty Two-Post Lift With 12,000 lb Baseplate Capacity
Some shops need to lift heavier vehicles — three-quarter ton and one-ton trucks, lifted full-size SUVs, big diesel pickups, even small commercial vans — but the building only has a 10 ft 6 in to 11 ft ceiling. That combination usually means giving up either the capacity or the building. The Atlas BP12000X solves the trade.
At 122 1/2 inches of overall column height (just over 10 ft 2 in) and a full 12,000 lb of lifting capacity, the BP12000X is one of the few baseplate lifts on the market that combines true heavy-duty capacity with a column short enough to fit in a low-ceiling commercial bay. The columns are 8 3/4 in by 14 in, the arms are 3-stage symmetric, and the lift can be installed at two different width settings to accommodate either narrower trucks or wider work trucks and trailers.

Oversized 8 3/4" x 14" columns — sized for sustained heavy-duty cycles.
-
Adjustable width — install at either 11 ft 3 7/8 in or 11 ft 9 1/4 in outside column spacing.
-
3-stage symmetric arms — even reach with extended arm range for full-size vehicles.
-
Single-point lock release — disengages both columns simultaneously for controlled descent.
-
Automatic arm restraints — arms lock in position once the vehicle is loaded.
-
Dual hydraulic chain-over cylinders — engineered for heavy-duty commercial duty cycles.
-
Rubber guards on carriages — protect vehicle bodywork during arm positioning.

Heavy-Duty Capacity in a Low-Ceiling Footprint
The BP12000X's reason for existing is the combination of heavy capacity and short columns. 12,000 lb of capacity is enough for most three-quarter ton and one-ton pickups, fully loaded work vans, and even some class 3 trucks. Doing that in a 10 ft 2 in column means you can install the lift in commercial bays with ceilings as low as 10 ft 6 in — a footprint that rules out most overhead lifts entirely.
The oversized 8 3/4 in by 14 in columns are sized to carry the rated load without flex, and the dual chain-over hydraulic cylinders are spec'd for sustained heavy-duty cycles rather than occasional hobbyist use. The 3-stage symmetric arms extend further than a 2-stage design, which matters when you're trying to find pick-up points on long-wheelbase work trucks.
Adjustable Width for Wider Vehicles
The BP12000X is unusual among baseplate lifts in offering two different installation widths. At the standard 11 ft 3 7/8 in outside column spacing, it handles full-size pickups comfortably. At the wider 11 ft 9 1/4 in setting, you get an extra five and a half inches of clearance between the columns — enough to drive between the columns with wider trucks, trailers, and dual-rear-wheel vehicles without scraping mirrors or rub strips.
That flexibility lets you size the install to the actual mix of vehicles you work on, instead of being stuck with one fixed width. The lift does require a 6 inch concrete slab at 3,000 psi minimum, so verify your floor before installation. The 220V single-phase motor runs on a 30 amp breaker that's already in most commercial shop buildings.
The Right 2-Post Lift for Your Shop
The BP12000X is for shops that need to lift heavy work trucks but can't put a 12 ft overhead lift in the building. It splits a hard trade — capacity vs. ceiling height — and gives you both, without compromising on column strength or arm reach.
